It’s a poem about solitude in a night of early winter, and that’s what the music tries to render. This piece won the 2nd prize at the International Choral Composition Competition of Japan 2023 and here’s the performance at the price giving ceremony (20/8/2023).

A suite of five movements for wind instrument and piano (but at the very beginning I had in mind the harpsichord…): my second, attempt in the chamber music world, mixing ancient and less ancient dances after a short prelude.

This is the winning piece of the 2019 IFCM Composition Competition. The words come from Psalm 99, arranged as an endless, dancing praise to God.

This is the first performance of this piece. The same performance my mom listened to one hour later in the very last night of her earthly life. I wrote it to give her my last kiss, my last hug and to say her I love you.
Lots of thanks to the Coro “Città di Parma” for having learned and recorded this piece in a couple of hours: they know we didn’t have so much time.
